ONE: King Of The Jungle – Todd, Sam-A Crowned Champions

In an empty arena, ONE Championship and its talent managed to put on a show at the King of the Jungle event. Taking place inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium, Janet Todd managed to take down Stamp Fairtex to win the ONE Kickboxing Women’s Atomweight Championship.

Exactly a year after losing to Fairtex (63-16-5) at ONE: Call to Greatness, Todd (36-11) avenged her loss and outpointed the former champion. The first bout was under Muay Thai rules. Todd, a bronze medalist in the 2017 World Games, used her boxing experience to strike away at her opponent. Fairtex ended up using leg kicks to relentlessly attack Todd. The judges ended up scoring the contest a split decision win for Todd.

Already the ONE Championship Muay Thai Atomweight World Champion, Fairtex’s dream of becoming a three-sport champion will have to wait.

In the co-main event, Sam-A Gaiyanghadao won the ONE Strawweight Muay Thai Championship following a unanimous decision win over Rocky Ogden. the opening rounds were highly-competitive, as both fighters gave it their all. Sam-A turned the contest in his favor in the later rounds with kicks and power punches. As a result of the win, Sam-A picked up the Muay Thai title to go along with the ONE Championship Kickboxing Strawweight World Championship.
