Ortiz Faces Rape Charge On Fight Week

Days before his fight against John Molina in Ontario, California, Victor Ortiz has turned himself in on three felony sexual assault charges.

In a story from the Ventura County Star reported on Wednesday, Ortiz is charged on the three felony sexual assault charges, with one being forcible rape, in an incident that occurred on March 19th. Ortiz’ bail was set for $100,000.

Ortiz was set to face John Molina Jr. in his first fight since his controversial draw against Devon Alexander and has been known to have trouble in the law in the past, including a DUI charge in 2017, and an arrest for a fight he instigated at a Kenny Chesney concert, which he would get and violate probation for.

As of now, there is no cancellation of the fight with Molina Jr, which is set to air on FS1 as part of the PBC’s deal with Fox.
