Oscar De La Hoya To Meet Ryan Garcia To Discuss Isaac Cruz Matchup

Oscar De La Hoya (39-6, 30 KOs) will be a busy man in the coming weeks.

The American boxer is reportedly scheduled to meet Ryan Garcia to discuss his future and a potential fight against Isaac Cruz.

The 49-year-old believes that Cruz is exactly the kind of fight Garcia wants. Moreover, the boxing public would also be liking the idea of this matchup.

The California native believes that there are multiple options for Garcia to decide upon his next opponent. However, he’s not naming any of those fighters.

The rumors suggest that De La Hoya wants Ryan to fight with Joseph ‘Jojo’ Diaz Jr, who is coming from a 12-round unanimous decision loss against Devin Haney in December 2021. Some could argue Diaz has no punching power to put Garcia on the ropes.

Diaz is arguably a safer pick for Garcia to fight against as compared to Cruz.
