Oscar Valdez Rates Stevenson Better Than Haney And Davis – ‘IQ On Another Level’

According to Oscar Valdez, Shakur Stevenson is the best fighter in the lightweight division.

Valdez knows what it is like to face Stevenson, having been beaten in a unanimous decision just last year. And in the process of doing so, Valdez suffered his first-ever loss.

While that may have been the case, Gervonta Davis and Devin Haney may have something to say about that. The former knocked out Ryan Garcia with a brutal body shot to become the ‘face of boxing.’

Meanwhile, Haney is the current undisputed champion. And yet, Valdez has singled out Stevenson as a unique boxer.

“I don’t know how that fight would end between Tank and Shakur Stevenson. Tank is fast and carries a big punch, and he’s got the knockout power.

“It’s hard to knock somebody out who is very defensive like Shakur, very smart. His ring IQ is on another level, so I think it’s going to be a tough division, but I do see Shakur up there to be the best,” Valdez

However, one man who begs to differ is Davis’ coach Calvin Ford. The latter still holds out hope that Davis will face Haney and Stevenson. And if that were to happen, he has backed Davis all the way.

“These fights are gonna happen…In my book, I don’t think Haney has got anything that could really stop Tank.

“You know, he hasn’t shown me anything where I’d go, ‘Woooo!’ You understand what I’m saying,” Ford
