WBC junior lightweight champion O’Shaquie Foster (24-3, 12 KOs) will make his first-ever title defense in his hometown of Houston, Texas, on May 30, 2026 against Raymond Ford (18-1-1, 8 KOs).
In December 2025, Foster was scheduled for a 130-pound defense against Stephen Fulton in San Antonio. Fulton missed the junior lightweight limit significantly, tipping the scales at 132 lbs. To save the event, the WBC sanctioned the bout for an interim lightweight (135 lbs) title instead. Foster won and then vacated the 135-pound strap to return to his natural home at 130, where he remains the full WBC champion.
After losing his WBA featherweight title to Nick Ball in a razor-thin split decision in mid-2024, Ford moved up to 130 pounds. Ford enters the fight on the back of three consecutive unanimous decision victories, most recently defeating Abraham Nova in Riyadh in August 2025. A win over Foster makes him a two-weight champ.
