IBF super-middleweight champion Osleys Iglesias (15-0, 14 KOs) will reportedly defend his title against Oliver Zaren (19-0-1, 8 KOs) on October 8 in Quebec.
Iglesias has won all 15 of his professional bouts, with 14 victories coming by knockout. The Cuban “Tornado” claimed the IBF belt by stopping Pavel Silyagin after previously earning an impressive victory over Vladimir Shishkin.
Zaren holds an unbeaten record of 19-0-1 with eight knockouts, although most of his career has been spent competing in Denmark. His only appearance abroad came against Jose Luis Navarro Jr. in Spain, where their European title fight was ruled a no contest after severe weather forced the outdoor event to end early.
With no mandatory challenger currently in place, fifth-ranked Zaren will receive the opportunity to challenge Iglesias. The fight gives the champion another chance to strengthen his position as one of the leading names in the post-Canelo super-middleweight division.
