OSP To Face Gamzatov In UFC Return
Just a few days after accepting his three-month ban from USADA, Ovince Saint Preux is heading back to action. It was announced that the 36-year-old will face off against Shamil Gamzatov at UFC Lincoln on April 25. Vestnik MMA was one of the first outlets to report the news.
This is one of the first fights for OSP (24-13) since beating Michał Oleksiejczuk back in September via the Von Flue choke. He is 2-2 in his last four fights and 5-3 in his last eight.
Saint Preux accepted the USADA suspension after testing positive during an out-of-competition drug test on November 1. USADA determined that the results of the test was due to a contaminated supplement, and the low levels of ostarine, GW1516 sulfone and GW1516 sulfoxide would not have enhanced his performance. The period of the suspension began on October 25, 2019 and his suspension ended on January 25.
Gamzatov (14-0) is coming off of a split decision win over Klidson Abreu back in November. Prior to that he was with the Professional Fighters League, winning two fights.
UFC Lincoln takes place inside the Pinnacle Bank Arena. The planned headliner at the moment features Anthony Smith v. Glover Teixeira in light heavyweight action.
