Ostovich-VanZant Back On For UFC’s ESPN + Debut
While it seemed Rachael Ostovich’s injuries would have forced her off the UFC’s January 19th return to Brooklyn.
The UFC flyweight’s manager announced on social media Tuesday night that Ostovich has been cleared by doctors for a fight against Paige VanZant as a featured part of the UFC’s debut on UFC+.
Ostovich was hospitalized on November 18th with a broken orbital bone and other injuries caused by an alleged domestic assault by her husband and MMA fighter Arnold Berdon.
Berdon was arrested on charges of felony assault, but has pled not guilty to the charges, and released on $75,000. Berdon has been assigned a hearing on December 18th, with family members claiming to TMZ that he was defending himself against his wife.
Following her release from the hospital, Ostovich filed a restraining order against Berdon, with Berdon having to stay at least 100 feet from the UFC fighter and their daughter.
VanZant confirmed the fight is still happening in a tweet on Tuesday.
