Osunaarashi To Retire After Lying About Accident

Following a car accident originally pinned on his pregnant wife, Egyptian sumo wrestler Osunaarashi says he will own up to being behind the wheel, and retire.

In a report from the Associated Press, the 26 year old Osunaarashi, got into a car accident in January of this year, and was driving without a license. Being without a license is why Osunaarashi claimed that his wife was behind the wheel, but was found to be the driver from security camera footage. Due to the controversy Osunaarashi was asked by the Japan Sumo Association to retire from the sport.

Osunaarashi, real name Abdelrahman Shalan, was the first professional sumo wrestler from Africa. He had already been fined $4,700 by a court over the incident.
