Otto Wallin To Face Kamil Sokolowski On Eubank-Williams Undercard

Otto Wallin is returning to the ring in just a week’s time.

Wallin (22-1, 14 KOs) will face Kamil Sokolowski (11-24, 4 KOs) on February 5 on the undercard of Chris Eubank Jr vs Liam Williams.

“It’ll be good to get a fight and get off some of the ring rust. Hopefully soon, we’ll get a bigger fight,” Wallin said in a statement.

Wallin was supposed to fight on October 30 against interim heavyweight champion Dillian Whyte, but the Brit pulled out due to injury.

There was controversy when his opponent pulled out, many suspecting he purposely did it so he could skip Wallin and get a title shot against WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

Whyte and promoter Eddie Hearn denied the accusations. But Whyte is not set to get his desired title shot in April after a long negotiation period with Whyte and Fury’s respective managements.

Wallin, meanwhile, noted that he still remembers his unanimous decision loss to Fury back in September of 2019.

Since that loss, the Scottish is 2-0 against Travis Kauffman and Dominic Breazeale, winning one via unanimous decision and the other via technical knockout.

As of September 2021, Wallin is ranked as the world’s tenth best active heavyweight by Transnational Boxing Rankings Board.
