Otto Wallin’s Promoter Trying To Finalize Fight With Joseph Parker

Wallin last fought in May to a unanimous decision why against Rydell Booker.

Heavyweight contender Otto Wallin’s promoter Dmitry Salita wants to secure him a fight against former WBO world champion Joseph Parker.

A few months ago, Parker suffered his first knockout defeat at the hands of Joe Joyce in a WBO interim-title clash.

“Otto fought in the UK this year,” Salita told Sky Sports. “His goal is to get a rematch with Tyson Fury and to fight Anthony Joshua.

Wallin is pushing to secure a fight against two-time former champion Anthony Joshua in 2023. Joshua considers the Swedish boxer as one of the names for his next fight, but he is not on top of the list.

“Tyson is fighting obviously against (Derek) Chisora in December, but Joshua seems to be in flux. Otto wants to keep busy with significant fights. Joseph Parker is a good opponent for Otto to fight – and one that we will pursue with interest.”

In 2019, Wallin put Fury on the knife edge in their fight and almost pulled off a sensational win. The British boxer overcame two severe cuts to get over the line through a twelve-round unanimous decision.

Salita believes that Joshua would like to face a fighter of Wallin’s caliber.

“Otto feels very confident about his chances to win, while it’s possible that Joshua may feel a little intimidated coming off a loss against a southpaw in Usyk. He did a great job, but he lost,” Salita said.

“There have been some good discussions, we love the fight and we’re ready for it, any time, any day of the week.”
