Pacquiao Interested In Thurman Fight
Manny Pacquiao not only earned the “regular” version of the WBA welterweight crown when he knocked out Lucas Matthysse last weekend, but a potential shot at Keith Thurman.
Thurman, who holds the “super” welterweight championship for the WBA, has been expected to return in May of 2018, but would be sidelined due to a hand injury. Prior to that he would need elbow surgery following a welterweight unification fight against Danny Garcia in March of 2017.
Among the list of potential opponents for Pacquiao, a reporter asked if Thurman would be next
“Still, I don’t know yet,” Pacquiao replied. “But right now I’m so happy. This is my first time to get a WBA belt.”
“My next fight. I want to defend my title, my belt, and give a good show and do my best in the ring.”
