Pacquiao-Ugás Pay-Per-View Price Will Be The Same As Pacquiao-Spence
Manny Pacquiao’s opponent is the only thing that’s changing for the August 21 fight.
The suggested retail price by FOX will remain at $74.95 for the four-fight show, now headlined by Pacquiao and Yordenis Ugás. Satellite and cable companies can charge more than the suggested price, but the cost typically doesn’t differ by more than $5.
The suggested retail price was already set when Pacquiao was scheduled to Errol Spence Jr., the undefeated and unified welterweight champion. It’s also the same price FOX and Premier Boxing Champions charged for the Pacman’s last fight, a split decision victory over Keith Thurman in July 2019.
The August 21 bout has been headlining news sites lately.
First, Audie Attar and Paradigm Sports Management tried putting a halt to the title fight by filing a preliminary injunction, claiming that Pacquiao’s team brokered the fight with PBC and Spence without Attar’s inclusion.
A judge denied the injunction.
Spence then shocked the boxing world when news broke that he withdrew from the Pacquiao fight due to a torn retina in his right eye. It was initially reported to be his left eye, but the boxer posted a photo showing post-surgery on his right eye.
Fabian Maidana, who was scheduled to fight Ugás in the co-main event, later revealed he was pulling out of the fight card due to a similar eye injury.
Pacquiao said he’s thankful his training is “not wasted.” Ugás told fans he wants to gift them a good fight.
