Pacquiao vs. Broner Live Results
Manny Pacquiao’s return to the United States has him face off against four-division champion Adrien Broner in boxing’s first major fight of 2019.
Since defeating Lucas Matthysse in the summer of 2018 to win the WBA “Regular” welterweight title, Pacquiao, who also works as a senator in the Philippines, signed with Premier Boxing Champions. As a member of PBC, Pacquiao has a number of potential big welterweight fights to have, but those fights can’t happen unless he is victorious against Broner, a former champion who is looking for his career-defining win.
The card headlines a boxing card from the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas. Other fights on the card include Rau’Shee Warren vs. Nordine Oubaali for the WBC bantamweight title and Badou Jack vs. Marcus Browne for the interim WBA light heavyweight title.

Badou Jack vs. Marcus Browne: Interim WBA Light Heavyweight title:
Round 1: Both men start things off with weak jabs to measure each other up. Browne throws an overhand left. Jack lands some jabs to the body, but Browne is slightly more aggressive in this opening round. Jack attacks the body, but Browne lands a solid three-punch combination upstairs.
Round 2: Jack and Browne continue trading punches throughout the round. Browne is looking to overpower Jack, while Jack is trying to outbox him and land jabs to the body. Browne throws a quick flurry of punches at the end of the round, but Jack was able to fend off his opponent’s shots.
Round 3: Browne lands a pair of stiff right hooks. Browne lands a jab, but Jack lunges forward and attacks with the lead right hand. Jack leans in on Browne on the ropes and the two briefly clinch. Browne throws another combination to the body. Jack leans in forward again, but is using his head and almost lands a severe headbutt on Browne on the ropes. Jack closes the distance and lands a pair of short left hooks to the body.
Round 4: Jack continues to take the fight into close quarters, looking to attack the body some more. Browne throws a pair of left jabs, but Jack connects with two right jabs. The two men clinch once more and Browne lands two punches to the side of Jack’s head.
Round 5: The first two minutes of the round saw both Jack and Browne clinch a lot, forcing referee Tony Weeks to step in a couple of times. Browne lets his hands go and throws vicious hooks and uppercuts, landing square on Jack’s chin.
Round 6: As the fight continues, Browne is looking more comfortable throwing and landing some of his power punches. Jack, on the other hand, is struggling to land his overhand right and is clinching more now than he did in the first few rounds. Browne lands a big right hook to the side of Jack’s head and then a left jab.
Round 7: There’s a big clash of heads and Jack suffers a big cut across Jack’s forehead and he is bleeding a lot. Browne continues to move forward and landing big power punches.
Round 8: Jack’s face is completely covered by blood thanks to the cut he suffered in the last round. Browne is still the aggressor in this fight, while Jack is still trying to find an opening to attack.
Round 9: Browne opens things up with a couple of jabs and Jack misses with a wide right hook. Browne and Jack exchange jabs to the head, but Jack is still battling the cut on his forehead. Browne lands a short left hand to the body and the two boxers clinch once more. Jack lands a quick right jab and closes the distance between him and Browne. Browne throws a right hook, but Jack manages to block it.
Round 10: Jack starts the round by letting his hands go and overwhelming Browne with a flurry of punches. Browne was able to recover and goes back to landing the power punches. Browne lands a left hook to the body, followed by a short three-punch combination. Browne lands another jab upstairs near Jack’s cut. Jack lands a quick right jab, but Browne was able to land several more punches at the end of the round.
Round 11: Browne attacks Jack and the cut that he suffered earlier in the fight continues to get worse. The fight is paused in order for Jack to get treated. The fight continues and Browne is still landing punches to the forehead and Jack’s face is immediately covered in blood.
Round 12: The two boxers continue to fight, but the arena lights get turned off for a brief second. The fight continues but Jack was unable to do anything that would convince anyone he won the fight. Jack’s cut only worsens, but he keeps coming forward, looking to land any punch that he can.

Round 1: Pacquiao lets his hands go early in the round, looking to work the body from the start. Pacquiao pressures Broner, pushing him to the ropes. Pacquiao lunges forward and land a left jab and uppercut. Pacquiao attacks the body some more as Broner continues to play defense in this first round. Broner barely connects on a left hook. Pacquiao lands a quick right jab.
Round 2: Broner almost connects on a left hook and nearly hit Pacquiao with his elbow. Broner was able to land right hand and Pacquiao connects on a right hook. The crowd in Las Vegas is pro-Pacquiao, cheering loudly every time he moves forward. Pacquiao blocks a right jab from Broner. Pacquiao throws a four-fight combination and continues to show that he’s the more aggressive fighter. Pacquiao doubles down on the jab.
Round 3: Pacquiao remains extremely active, rushing to throw as many jabs as he can. Pacquiao lands a jab with Broner against the ropes and Broner was briefly in trouble before clinching with Pacquiao. Broner has his right jab blocked by Pacquiao. Pacquiao lands a left hand to the body, pushing Broner back. Pacquiao lands a sharp jab on Broner.
Round 4: Broner lands a check left hook and then a counter left hand. Pacquiao continues to close the distance and rushing to throw more punches at Broner. Broner seems to be more comfortable in this round, avoiding more of Pacquiao’s punches.
Round 5: Pacquiao continues to throw more combinations and Broner is defending better compared to the first three rounds of the fight. Broner connects on another counter left hook. The crowd in Las Vegas chants Pacquiao’s name and Broner blocks a combination from Pacquiao.
Round 6: Broner is starting to land body shots but Pacquiao connects on a big left hand. Broner barely hits Pacquiao with a right jab. Pacquiao attacks the body once more. Pacquiao takes the fight up close and Broner shoves Pacquiao back. Pacquiao lands a couple of right jabs and follows it up with a couple of left uppercuts. Broner ends the round with a big counter left hook.
Round 7: Broner doubles down on the right jab and Pacquiao lands a counter left jab on Broner against the ropes. Pacquiao walks down Broner and lunges forward with numerous jabs, forcing Broner to the ropes. Broner misses with the right hand and Pacquiao lands a left hook to the body. Pacquiao staggers Broner and hits several big power punches. Pacquiao unloads on Broner and the champion is dominating the fight while Broner can simply fight to survive the round.
Round 8: Broner lands a solid right uppercut to Pacquiao’s chin to start the round. Broner is fighting better in this round, landing counter punches left and right. Pacquiao goes to the body and Broner once again counters with the left hand. Pacquiao lands a left hand to the body.
Round 9: Pacquiao lands a jab upstairs and Broner misses with the right hand. Pacquiao lands another big left hand to Broner who is against the ropes. Broner lands a counter right hand and then a left hook to the body. Pacquiao lands a big left hand that sends Broner to the ropes and nearly to the canvas. Broner once again goes to survivor mode to avoid getting knocked down.
Round 10: Broner throws weak jabs to start as Pacquiao lunges forward to try and attack the body once more. Broner lands a left hand, but doesn’t follow through with it with more punches. Pacquiao briefly sends Broner to the ropes. Broner lands a solid counter right hook.
Round 11: Broner was able to land several counter right hands to Pacquiao to start. Pacquiao lands a couple of quick left hooks and Broner eats a left jab to the body. Pacquiao barely connects on a left hand to the side of Broner’s head. Broner misses with a pair of jabs and Pacquiao connects with a jab to the body. Broner manages to land a counter left hook to Pacquiao late in the round.
Round 12: Broner lands a quick left jab and Pacquiao manages to land a counter left hook to the body. Broner lands a right hook to the side of Pacquiao’s head. Broner is not able to do much in this round to convince the judges that he convincingly won the fight. The final bell sounds and Broner jumps to a corner, believing that he is victorious.
