Patricio Freire Defends Belt In Tel Aviv

After being injured during Bellator’s last time in Israel, Patricio Freire will get his chance to compete in the country on November 15th.

Freire will defend his Bellator Featherweight championship against Emmanuel Sanchez, at Menora Mivtachim Arena, for the Viacom owned companies third sojourn into the country.

One of Bellator’s “Pitbull” brothers, Freire was set to fight on Bellator 188 in November, 2017, but returned to the Bellator cage with a win over Daniel Weichel at Bellator 203.

Sanchez rides a four fight winning streak into his title opportunity, with submission wins over Daniel Straus and Sam Sicilia, plus wins over Marcos Galvao and Georgi Karakhanyan.

“Last year I got injured and was out of the event,” Freire told MMA Fighting, “so when Bellator told me they would return to Israel and thought about doing this fight, I didn’t think twice. I want to put on a show for the Israeli crowd and MMA fans to pay you back this time.”
