Patricky Pitbull Climbs To Top Of Bellator MMA Rankings After Claiming Title

After suffering two losses in a row, Patricky “Pitbull” Freire fought for the vacated lightweight title against Peter Queally.

Patricky went on to win the title and is now the champion in Bellator’s lightweight rankings. Queally is down to the No. 5 position.

Neither fighter has broken into the men’s pound-for-pound list yet.

The two first shared the cage at Bellator 258, where Queally, of Ireland, earned TKO victory after doctor stopped the fight.

Before Friday’s rematch was scheduled, the division’s champion was Patricky’s brother, Patricio Pitbull, who dethroned Michael Chandler and never defended it. After Patricio suffered a loss in the featherweight division, he decided to vacate the title and allow his brother to fight for the belt.

Patricky won and became the champion, making the sacrifice and risk of losing the belt for Pitbull brothers worth it.
