Paul Drops Diaz In His Victory, Serrano Beats Hardy On Points
Jake Paul dropped Nate Diaz as he went on to get a unanimous-decision victory over the MMA star.
Paul was looking to end things early, as he piled the pressure on Diaz who backed up immediately. Diaz’s legs looked unsteady, but he held on to make it through a tough first round.

It was the same story in the second, as Paul connected with the more eye-catching shots. However, Diaz did enjoy some success in the fourth, landing some combinations as Paul slowed down.
But just as Diaz appeared to be getting a little comfortable, Paul struck with a peach of a shot. A left hook sent Diaz to the floor in the only knockdown of the fight.

While Paul did seek to finish the fight, Diaz responded with some shots of his own, as he escaped the onslaught.
In the second half of the fight, Diaz attempted to apply the pressure, knowing that he was behind on the scorecards.
However, it was all a little too late, as shown by Diaz’s flurry in the tenth. Diaz’s combinations were not effective, as he resorted to putting Paul in a guillotine choke.

And that performance showed in the scorecards, as Paul got a wide decision: 97-92, 98-91 and 98-91.

“I had him hurt in the first round, he kept on coming and no one’s taken that much damage. He’s real tough. That’s what he’s known for. But tough in this sport doesn’t work. Let’s run it back in MMA. Make it fair. I won one, now it’s your chance in your home territory. MMA, let’s do it,” Paul
“I’ll do either MMA or boxing. MMA sounds good. (Paul) won one and I need to get one back. So I’m down with that. It’s tough. I wish I could’ve done better and did better things. …But it’s all good,” Diaz

Amanda Serrano retained her undisputed featherweight titles with a dominant-points win over Heather Hardy.
Serrano’s combinations were telling, as her lead hand found its target early, as she focused on the body.
The champion’s hooks to the body set up the trap, as Serrano landed a huge left as Hardy began bleeding in the first.

The story was the same in the next round. Serrano’s left hand peppered Hardy, as the latter’s hooks were falling short in response. The pressure continued, with Serrano’s assault in the fourth.
Although there was no knockdown, it was a one-sided pummeling. The Puerto Rican slowed things down in the fifth, as she boxed and moved.
But in truth, the writing was on the wall. Serrano’s pressure came to a head in the tenth.
Despite buzzing Hardy with several shots, the former somehow held on to take it to the judges who had it as follows: 99-91, 100-90 and 100-90.
Reaction
“I’m more happy that I gave Heather an opportunity to make six figures. That was my goal tonight, to show that she’s skilled, she’s as tough as they come. Women can fight,” Serrano
“To have her grab my hand and say, ‘Come on, Heat, let me help you because I know what you went through,’ it just means everything. I gave everything I had today. I gave everything for three months. I have no excuses. That was everything,” Hardy
