Paulo Costa Vs Luke Rockhold Reportedly Confirmed For Summer

Weeks ago, Paulo Costa said that he would fight against former middleweight champion Luke Rockhold if and only if fans wanted to see that fight.

Now, according to Combate, the fight has been confirmed for August 20.

Costa is currently on a two-fight losing streak.

He was an undefeated title challenger, but Israel Adesanya served him his first-ever loss. His latest appearance was against Marvin Vettori, which he lost by unanimous decision. That fight was held in the light heavyweight division because Costa was unable to cut weight.

Rockhold held his last fight in 2019 against Jan Blachowicz.

Michael Bisping dethroned Rockhold in 2016, and after that, he only earned one victory against David Branch. Just like his potential rival, Rockhold is on a two-fight losing streak. His latest appearance was in also at the light heavyweight limit.

Additionally, Rockhold has not fought in three years. His last victory was in 2017.

Costa initially shot down a fight against Rockhold, stating that he wasn’t interesting in fighting an unranked opponent.
