PBC And Amazon Prime Video’s First PPV Confirmed

PBC and Amazon Prime Video’s multi-fight deal includes a PPV on May 4th, with a possible one before that on March 30th too.

The announcement arrives following Showtime’s departure from broadcasting combat sports in 2023. That left PBC with no choice but to find an alternative network. Links with DAZN and Amazon Prime Video followed with Amazon getting the nod.

“We are thrilled to join with Premier Boxing Champions to bring the best boxers in the world to Prime Video, and to give more fans than ever the chance to experience these must-see events,” Marie Donoghue (Amazon)

Details over the first card remain unclear, although Gervonta Davis is considered a leading name to headline a fight. His last fight against Ryan Garcia generated over 1.2 million PPV sales, with a gate of over $20 million. Amazon Prime Video’s huge subscriber base, over 100 million in the US alone, makes Davis the perfect candidate to headline.

The second event, a PPV on May 4th, is reserved for Canelo Alvarez on Cinco De Mayo weekend. The Mexican has been linked with a David Benavidez fight, as the Mexican Monster is his WBC mandatory. Canelo only has two fights left on his PBC deal, making it an ideal time to secure the Benavidez fight.
