PBC, FOX Sports Pay-Per-View Prices Doubles For Keith Thurman-Mario Barrios In February
It’ll cost fans twice as much to watch Keith Thurman return in a match against Mario Barrios.
The February 5 pay-per-view show will cost $74.65, which is double the price of the first boxing PPV event of the year, Boxing Scene reported.
Thurman, the former WBA and WBC welterweight champion, will take on Barrios, the former WBA super lightweight champion in a 12-round main event in Las Vegas.
The first boxing pay-per-view of the year was between Cuban heavyweight Luis Ortiz and Charles Martin. Ortiz notched a sixth-round technical knockout of Martin. This PBC/FOX broadcast was $39.95.
Thurman is a bigger name than Ortiz.
Thurman (29-1, 22 KOs, 1 NC) is returning after a two-and-a-half-year layoff he took since losing via split decision to Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao. Pacquiao gained Thurman’s WBA super welterweight title.
Meanwhile, Barrios (26-1, 17 KOs) is also looking to get back into the winning column after being dropped three times by Gervonta Davis on June 26 in a 140-pound championship match.
The co-main event of February will feature Leo Santa Cruz (37-2-1, 19 KOs) and Keen Carbajal (23-2-1, 15 KOs).
