PBP Commentator Mike Goldberg No Longer With Bellator

Mike Goldberg is out as the play-by-play ace of Bellator.

Goldberg first signed with Bellator back in 2017. This was after the UFC decided to move on from Goldberg. While Goldberg and Mauro Ranallo were brought in by the promotion, Goldberg ended up serving as the voice of the promotion with Ranallo taking far fewer dates due to other commitments.

Now that Bellator has struck a deal with Showtime, Ranallo will be the new voice of the promotion. Bellator President Scott Coker has revealed that Goldberg is no longer with the promotion (h/t New York Post).

“Mike Goldberg is not going to be part of the mix moving forward. But I think we had a great run with Mike, and the door’s always going to be open.”

The broadcast team will consist of Mauro Ranallo, John McCarthy, Josh Thomson, and Jenn Brown. Michael C. Williams will remain as the Bellator ring announcer.

Bellator will be making its Showtime debut on April 2. In the main event, Patricio “Pitbull” Freire will defend the Bellator Featherweight Title against Emmanuel Sanchez in a rematch. This bout will also serve as the semi-finals of the Bellator Featherweight World Grand Prix.

Bellator 255 will also be airing live for those who aren’t subscribed to Showtime. You can click here for the live stream.
