Pereira Defends Middleweight Title at GLORY: Collision 2
Alex Pereira’s first fight as a defending champ-champ, GLORY Kickboxing’s first, will take place on a grand stage, as he will defend the middleweight title at GLORY: Collision 2 on December 21.
Pereira will defend the championship against Ertugrul Bayrak.
Pereira enters this contest on a seven-fight win streak (six in GLORY). After defeating Simon Marcus for the middleweight title at GLORY 46 in October 2017, Pereira made four defenses of the title (twice against Yousri Belgaroui, once against Marcus and once against Jason Wilnis) before facing Donegi Abena for the interim GLORY light heavyweight title at GLORY 68 in September. Pereira scored a third-round knockout to make GLORY history by becoming the first GLORY kickboxer to simultaneously hold titles in two weight classes.
Bayrak enters this fight with split-decision wins in both of his GLORY contests — defeating Donovan Wisse at GLORY 62 and Jakob Styben at GLORY 64.
GLORY: Collision 2 takes place at the Gelredome Arnhem in the Netherlands and will be headlined by the rematch between GLORY heavyweight champion Rico Verhoeven and Badr Hari.
