Alex Pereira reacted to Dricus Du Plessis’ win over Israel Adesanya at UFC 305 by saying he will return to middleweight.
Du Plessis submitted Adesanya in the fourth round to retain his UFC Middleweight Belt and set up a likely rematch with Sean Strickland. Pereira was the previous middleweight champion. However, Adesanya knocked him out at UFC 287, and he lost his title.
In the aftermath, Adesanya lost the belt to Strickland at UFC 293. Meanwhile, Pereira moved up to light heavyweight. Alex faced Jiri Prochazka for the vacant title at UFC 295. He knocked him out to win the belt and defended it successfully at UFC 303 by beating him again. While Alex will face Khalil Rountree at UFC 307 on October 5 in his next bout, he plans to move down to middleweight to chase the belt.

However, Du Plessis has responded by saying he wants the fight at light heavyweight.
Alex Pereira said that he wants to fight Dricus Du Plessis at 185 lbs and DDP replied saying he’d come up to 205 lbs to fight Pereira for his belt 👀

Reaction
It would be a mistake to think that Dricus is an easy win. Israel made that mistake. Don’t go there, bro.
