Pereira To Pursue Legal Appeal Over Gane Loss

Alex Pereira (13-4) is taking legal action over his UFC White House defeat to Ciryl Gane (14-2, 1 NC), confirming he intends to appeal the second-round TKO result after multiple illegal elbows to the back and side of his head went unaddressed by referee Herb Dean during the finish.

“I had a long conversation with my manager last night. We are going to pursue this legally. We’re going to talk to our lawyers. The bill is going to come from some people,” Pereira

Dean posted a video on Tuesday attempting to explain why he did not consider Gane’s elbows illegal, but Pereira watched it and found it counterproductive. Pereira went further, framing his appeal not just as a personal grievance but as a stand on behalf of future fighters.

“He posted on that video explaining the rules, but he did not follow his own rules that he followed in that video. Herb had a record of making mistakes like that. Maybe his time is up. I am speaking for the new generation, for the people who are coming there in the future,” Pereira
