Pettis Signs For Lightweight Return

After going 1-1 at welterweight, Anthony Pettis will return to the lightweight division this January at what may be UFC 246.

On Monday, MMA Fighting confirmed that the former lightweight champion will return to action on January 18th at 155-pounds against Diego Ferreira at a card slated for the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Pettis last fought at lightweight at UFC 229 in October 2018, when he was stopped by Tony Ferguson in the second round of their fight on a card headlined by Conor McGregor, who is alleged to be in the main event against Donald Cerrone.

After going 2-2 in his first four fights in the UFC, Ferreria is riding a five-fight winning streak that includes two wins this year over Mairbek Taisumov and Rustam Khabilov by decision.
