PFL Offers Nate Diaz $15M For MMA Fight With Jake Paul

PFL chairman Donn Davis is willing to offer Nate Diaz up to $15 million in order to fight Jake Paul in MMA under the organization.

Paul beat Diaz on his boxing debut on August 5th, 2023, via a unanimous decision in their only encounter. While Diaz was dropped in the fifth round, he managed to last the distance with the ‘Problem Child.’ In the aftermath, Paul made a $10 million offer to Diaz for them to face each other in MMA under the PFL. That was not taken up by Diaz, who seemingly wanted a rematch in boxing before considering an MMA fight. Instead, Paul chose to face Andre August on December 15th, 2023. However, Davis was willing to increase the offer to get Diaz to sign on the dotted line.

“Nate will do it when he wants to do it so I’m just trying to create a canvas that we’re open for business. It’s like the old Motel 6, ‘we’ll leave the light on’ so I just want to leave the light on and I want to say, ‘here’s $15 million, here’s Jake, we have all the infrastructure at PFL and we’re easy to work with. Dink, the light’s on … $10 to 15 [million]. I’m just letting him know, the range is there. There’s a higher end of the range and a lower end of the range. Like, beep, the light’s on,” Davis

One sticking point could be Diaz’s desire to return to the UFC at some point in the future. His last fight was a submission win over Tony Ferguson in round four at UFC 279. And given the loyalty that Diaz has shown the UFC, it may take a huge offer to sway him, which is where Davis may come in. However, Francis Ngannou had left the UFC to sign with the PFL on a lucrative deal that allowed him more flexibility, including the option to box. And that could be a similar option for Diaz moving forward.
