PFL President Ray Sefo ‘Would Love To Have’ Francis Ngannou Under His Banner
According to PFL president Ray Sefo, the possibility of Francis Ngannou signing with the promotion seems promising and optimistic.
Ngannou made a bold move in his professional career when he chose to depart from the UFC, despite being the reigning heavyweight champion.
Due to feeling underpaid, he made the decision to decline a new contract and explore other options as a free agent.
And as part of that process, Ngannou has allegedly been engaging in discussions with multiple groups, one of which is the PFL.
With that being said, this is what Sefo had to say: “That is correct, we’ve had a few meetings with Francis and those discussions are still going on.
“Obviously, there’s a few other things he also wants to pursue which is boxing and he knows where we stand with it too so, you know, it’s all positive should I say, right? To be quite honest, I would love to have him in the season.”
Nevertheless, Ngannou has plenty of options to explore. He has made it clear that a transition into boxing is something that he is seriously considering.
Heavyweight superstars Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder have already been mentioned as some of the names who could join Ngannou in the ring.
And with a plethora of options available, coupled with the fact that the 36-year-old Ngannou may be looking to secure a big pay day, the world is his oyster.
