PFL Snags Contender Prospect
Many were shocked last month when Dana White passed on signing Tuesday Night Contender Series fighter Brendan Loughnane.
White justified the highly criticized non-signing because Loughnane shot a takedown late into the fight that he ended up winning.
“It’s not like I got this guy locked up, and he’s all locked up, and I didn’t take him,” White said of the 17-3 fighter, to ESPN. “He’s available to any other promoter in the world. So if I’m wrong, knock yourself out.”
And now, the PFL has signed Loughnane on the heels of the UK based fighter signing with manager Malki Kawa, for a multifight deal that will see him debut in October.
Loughnane has won all but one of his last eight fights, with two of his three pro losses being considered controversial, and his third avenged in a series of fights with Mike Wilkinson.
