PFL Star Taylor Guardado Is Here To Give You Serious Uncle Goals

Taylor Guardado said her winning mindset was ingrained in her.

Guardado, who has secured a final berth in the 2021 PFL tournament, revealed that the renowned NFL legend, Chuck Muncie was her uncle.

Speaking to MMA Junkie Radio, the 32-year-old MMA star said that suggestions of her uncles have helped her make it big in combat sports.

“Before I even was a professional athlete, I got advice from my uncles that played in the NFL, and that was back when I was running track and field. I went to the Junior Olympics in track and field, but they always just told me to remain focused,” she said.

Muncie died in 2013 in California. He served as the running back for the New Orleans Saints and San Diego Chargers in the NFL. In his nine seasons, he registered 6,702 rushing yards, 263 receptions for 2,323 yards and 74 touchdowns.

Drug addiction turned his life around for the worse in the latter stages of his career. Muncie was also once imprisoned. He was selected to the Pro Bowl three times, and tied the then-NFL season record for rushing touchdowns in 1981.

Ex-NFL stars Bill and Nelson Munsey are also Guardado’s uncles.

“They told me to keep the goal in mind but focus on whatever is in front of you, first and foremost. So whatever task was ahead of me was more important than the task at the end – which is obviously to win,” she added.

Guardado will fight Kayla Harrison in the final on October 27.
