PFL Vs. Bellator: Champs Kick-Off Presser

The PFL vs Bellator: Champs card takes place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on a historic night of MMA on February 24, 2024.

Four champions from each organization will face each other to decide the best following PFL’s recent acquisition of Bellator. In the main event, Renan Ferreira faces Ryan Bader in a heavyweight clash. Ferreira is in impressive form, having stopped his last three opponents during last year’s PFL regular season and playoffs.

A second-round TKO of Denis Goltsov made him the 2023 PFL Heavyweight Champion. Bader is the equivalent champion in Bellator and on a three-fight-win streak. He stopped Fedor Emelianenko in his last fight, keeping his unbeaten record as a heavyweight intact.

Also on the card, Impa Kasanganay will face Johnny Eblen after capturing the PFL Light Heavyweight gold. Kasangay remains undefeated in the PFL. He mainly fought as a middleweight before moving up to light heavyweight. The PFL hasn’t featured a middleweight division since its 2018 season. This clash takes place at middleweight, as Eblen remains undefeated, having stopped Fabian Edwards in his last bout.

Elsewhere, Ray Cooper III takes on Jason Jackson. Cooper is a two-time PFL Welterweight Champion and has the most stoppage victories in PFL. Jackson became the Bellator Welterweight Champion by beating Yaroslav Amosov.

The 2023 PFL Featherweight Champion, Jesus Pinedo, faces Patricio Pitbull. Pitbull is the current Bellator Featherweight Champion, but he has lost his last two bouts, one in Bellator and one in Rizin, putting pressure on him to perform.

On the prelim card, PFL featherweight Gabriel Braga faces Bellator’s Aaron Pico. Biaggio Ali Walsh has his pro debut at 155-pounds, and Claressa Shields also returns to the PFL SmartCage. Here were the key highlights from the presser.
