Pimblett Addresses A Potential McGregor Fight

Paddy Pimblett (7-1) addressed the rumors of a potential fight between him and Conor McGregor, saying he would be an idiot to turn it down.

Pimblett, who is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Justin Gaethje in January, confirmed that he is ready to return to the Octagon following his first UFC loss. Meanwhile, McGregor is legally cleared to compete under the UFC’s drug-testing protocols after his drug suspension expired. While he has not fought since his 2021 broken leg during his loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, McGregor was overlooked for the 250 Freedom White House card on June 14. Rumors suggest he could headline the UFC’s International Fight Week in June. Pimblett admitted he would take that fight if presented.

“Yeah, of course [I’d fight Conor McGregor]. If Conor wanted to fight me, I would fight him all day long. Everyone knows how good Conor is and how he changed the sport, but the sport moves on. It’s a different trajectory now. It’s a completely different sport. But if, as I said, he wanted to fight me, I’m not going to say no, am I? He’s the biggest star the sport has ever seen. He made the sport what it is, so if he ever wanted to fight me, I’d fight him in a heartbeat. Anyone who says otherwise is an idiot,” Pimblett said
