Pimblett Calls For “The Ultimate Fighter” Season Vs Ilia Topuria
Paddy Pimblett (24-4) has called for a coaching role opposite Ilia Topuria (17-1) on a future season of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ before the pair meet inside the Octagon.
The British lightweight has exchanged insults with the division’s former champion Topuria since an altercation at a UFC event in March 2022. Pimblett believes their rivalry would make for entertaining television.
“I think me and Ilia Topuria would be a brilliant season of The Ultimate Fighter because I’d get under his skin so much, that when we come into the fight, I’d beat him just as fast as [Conor] McGregor beat [Jose] Aldo,” said Pimblett. “The Ultimate Fighter would be a very entertaining six weeks … if it was me and him.”
Pimblett suffered a brutal loss via unanimous decision to Justin Gaethje on January 24 before rebounding with a 52-second submission of Benoit Saint-Denis on July 11.
Topuria, meanwhile, lost his lightweight championship to Gaethje at UFC Freedom 250 on June 14, with his corner stopping the fight after four rounds.
Neither fighter currently has a confirmed opponent or return date.
