Dustin Poirier shut down Michael Chandler for celebrating his last win against Dan Hooker in 2021.
Chandler has only had five UFC fights, winning just two of them. His first win was against Hooker at UFC 257. He then lost his next two before beating Tony Ferguson at UFC 274. Chandler’s last UFC appearance was a defeat to Poirier at UFC 281 in 2022. Chandler has been targeting the Conor McGregor fight since they were rival coaches on the TUF 31 series. A June 29 date for UFC 303 was agreed before McGregor pulled out with a toe injury.

Now, question marks remain over whether the fight will happen this year. However, Chandler was reminiscing over his Hooker win as he shared a video of himself landing numerous punches on him. The Hooker win looks more impressive since Dan has wins over Mateusz Gamrot and the leading lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan. However, Poirier put Chandler in his place. He reminded Chandler of his wins over Justin Gaethje, Hooker, Max Holloway, Benoit Saint-Denis and of course, Chandler. Â
