President Trump To Attend Summer Basho

There will be a special guest on May 26th on the final day of the Summer Grand Sumo Tournament, as United States President, Donald Trump will be in attendance.

The White House put in a request for front-row box seats at Ryogoku Sumo Hall for the final day to the Japan Sumo Organization, as the President will be in the country for a three-day summit with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

President Trump and his guests will most likely sit on the floor of the world famous Sumo Hall, less than 20 feet from the “dohyo” where the wrestlers compete.

Trump and Abe may be joined by the new emperor and empress of Japan, who attend at least one day of any Tokyo based tournament.
