Primus vs. Chandler 2 Set for April 13

Michael Chandler will receive a chance to earn back the Bellator Lightweight Championship he lost under unfortunate circumstances.

Chandler and current Bellator Lightweight Champion Brent Primus will meet in the main event of an April 13 Bellator event at The Family Arena in St. Charles, Missouri.

Chandler and Primus originally met at the Bellator NYC pay-per-view last June, when Primus won the title after Chandler injured his foot early in the first round. Chandler hoped to receive a re-match as soon as he recovered, but a supposed schedule conflict — which resulted in a public verbal war between the two fighters — forced the bout’s postponement.

Chandler returned to the Bellator cage at Bellator 192 on Jan. 20, easily defeating Goiti Yamauchi to the judges’ scorecards of 30-26, 30-26 and 30-25. Primus, despite being undefeated at 8-0 (6-0 in Bellator), has yet to compete since winning the title back in June.
