Pulev-Breazeale Purse Bid Ordered

In October, he was set to face Anthony Joshua, now Kubrat Pulev in his first fight since suffering an injury has been ordered to face Dominic Breazeale.

Over the weekend, the IBF ordered that the number two ranked Pulev and sixth ranked Breazeale face off in a final eliminator for a chance at the title held by Joshua. The two sides were unable to come to terms on an agreement for a fight, and now the IBF has ordered a purse bid on April 10th.

Pulev earned an opportunity at Joshua’s titles back in late 2017, but was forced out of the fight due to an injury suffered in training. Pulev would be replaced by Carlos Takam, who would fall to Joshua before the score cards.

Breazeale’s only career loss came at the hands of Joshua, in the latter’s first defense of the IBF crown in June 2016, but would win his last two fights, most recently against Eric Molina at Barclays Center in November.
