Quote: Tyson Fury Is ‘Frustrated’ Waiting For Anthony Joshua Fight
Tyson Fury isn’t happy with the delay in fighting Anthony Joshua if his sparring partner is to be believed.
Fury is the WBC and The Ring Heavyweight Champion. Joshua holds the WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO gold. While Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn insists the bout is a lock for the summer, Top Rank’s Bob Arum is singing a different tune.
Fury is tired of the mixed signals, Andy Lee told Sky Sports.
“He is frustrated. The end date was February, then it was March, now we’re still going on. He’s very frustrated that the biggest, most powerful people in boxing (promoters Bob Arum, Eddie Hearn and all the networks) but they can’t seem to get the deal done for whatever reason.”
Lee went on to say that while he does believe Fury vs. Joshua will eventually happen, he questions why “The Gypsy King” has had to wait for so long.
“It’s inevitable that it will happen. But all this sitting around and waiting? Tyson could have fought in February or March. He’s been held up by it. He does like to be active. I don’t know if it’s to his detriment or his benefit that this wait has happened. He will be ready to unleash the fury when this fight is on!”
