Randa Markos Among Seven Fighters Released From The UFC

Seven fighters have parted ways with the UFC.

MMA Junkie reported the news, but the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.

Khama Worthy did, however, confirmed he was no longer with the promotion and thanked them for the opportunity.

Roster moves, unless specifically noted, are not necessarily a “cut.” The UFC may have chosen to not re-sign certain fighters.

Here’s the recent departures.

Andrew Sanchez

Andrew Sanchez has been a member of the UFC since 2016. He became a UFC fighter from the Ultimate Fighter show.

However, since that fight, he earned five victories and suffered five defeats in the promotion. He suffered defeats against names like Anthony Smith, Marvin Vettori, but his last two losses in a row turned out fatal for the fighter.

In 2021, he suffered losses against Makhmud Muradov and Bruno Silva.

Livinha Souza

Livinha Souza is not a member of the UFC after suffering two defeats in a row in the following year.

However, she had a great start in the UFC. She won three bouts in his first four battlse, but 2021 turned out to be bad.

Laureano Staropoli

The Argentinian fighter had a great debut in the UFC.

He earned two victories in a row against Hector Aldana and Thiago Alves.

However, he suffered four losses in a row.

In 2021, he suffered a loss twice against Georgian fighter Roman Dolidze and the previous contest against Jamie Pickett.

The Argentinian was asking for the rematch against Dolidze, but as it looks like the rematch will not be held after suffering a loss in all three rounds.

Khama Worthy

Khama Worthy made an impressive UFC debut when he defeated Devonte Smith at UFC 241, while bookmakers considered him a huge underdog.

However, after being on the right side of the upset, he suffered three losses in a row — all of them via KO in the first round.

During his career, he suffered nine losses, and eight of them were via KO. Still, he posted on Instagram, nothing is over yet, and he will still fight.

Teemu Packalen

The 34-year-old Finland fighter made his UFC debut in 2015, but has held only four fights since that.

His last appearance was in 2019 when he suffered a KO loss against Ottman Azaitar.

However, after not being active for more than two years, UFC released him from the promotion. His UFC record included only one victory and three defeats.

Randa Markos

After stopping a four-fight losing streak by defeating Livinha Souza, UFC still decided that it was not enough for the new contract.

In the UFC, she held 18 fights and suffered 10 losses and one draw. She celebrated victory inside the octagon only seven times since 2014.

Liana Jojua

The former Fight Night Global champion signed her UFC contract in 2019.

The Georgian fighter is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu specialist. She fought four times in the UFC and earned victory only once, with armbar’s submission in the first round.

That victory was enough for her to become a part of history. She is the first-ever Georgian fighter who managed to earn the early victory, while Giga Chikadze, Merab Dvalishvili, Levan Makashvili, and Guram Kutateladze have already participated in the UFC.

Her last appearance was against Cortney Casey on the previous Saturday night, and she suffered another loss. She also missed weight by almost three pounds.
