Raoni Barcelos Update After Being Rendered Unconscious in Rosas Bout

Barcelos was ahead on the scorecards entering the final round when Rosas slammed him to the canvas at 1:38 of Round 5. Barcelos went limp following the impact, prompting Rosas to immediately signal for the fight to be stopped.

Barcelos was taken to a Level 1 trauma center, where a CT scan and comprehensive assessment were completed.

“Barcelos is stable, alert and responsive, with full movement. He will remain under medical supervision. We will provide updates on his condition as they become available,” the UFC said.

Coach Davi Ramos later said Barcelos had regained full consciousness and was able to move his arms and legs while remaining under observation.

“Raoni is doing well. He has regained full consciousness, he can move his legs, his arms, and his hands; he is alert, he is talking. Everything is fine with him,” Ramos said.

The UFC has not yet provided a timetable for Barcelos’ release from the hospital.
