Raquel Pennington Vs. Julia Avila Scheduled For December 18 Showdown
Several sources have confirmed that former No. 1 contender for the women’s bantamweight title Raquel Pennington will mark her return to the octagon against Julia Avila at the end of this year.
The event is expected to take place on December 18 at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Pennington is currently on a two-fight win streak in the division. She made her long-awaited return to the octagon this September where she picked up a unanimous decision victory over top 15 contender Pannie Kianzad at UFC Vegas 37.
Previously, Pennington was sidelined for a period of 17-month, which included a six-month suspension from USADA after she accidentally took a pair of banned substances — 7-keto-DHEA and AOD-9064.
This long hiatus also included an ATV accident that severely injured her leg.

Meanwhile, Avila made an emphatic comeback after her first loss in the octagon against Sijara Eubanks with a third-round submission victory over Julija Stoliarenko at UFC Vegas 30 event.
Both Pennington and Avila will be looking to maintain this good run of wins when they meet each other on December 18.
