Raul Rosas Jr.’s Next Opponent Scheduled For UFC 287

He is coming off of a successful UFC debut.

The teenage prospect Raul Rosas Jr. has been making gigantic strides recently. Now, the youngest UFC fighter is set for his second octagon appearance.

According to the reports from Marcel Dorff of Eurosport Nederland, the teenager will battle Christian Rodriguez in UFC 287 on April 8. The location and venue are yet to be announced.

Rosas Jr. joined the UFC on the back of a successful appearance on Contender Series last September. ‘El Niño Problema’ required a specific licence from the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) to confirm his bout against Mando Gutierrez. Rosas Jr. dominated the match from start to finish enroute to a unanimous decision.

Three years after the CS appearance, the 18-year-old made his debut against Jay Perrin at UFC 282 in December. The teenager forced his opponent to tap via a neck crank in less than three minutes. Through this win, he earned a “Performance of the Year” bonus and improved to a 7-0 record as a professional.

On the other hand, Rodriguez didn’t have things as smooth as Rosas Jr. as he suffered his first defeat against Jonathan Pearce at UFC Vegas 48 in February. ‘Ceerod’ would return to winning ways via a first-round submission win over Joshua Weems in his next bout, improving his record to 1-1 in the promotion.
