Reason For Canelo vs Mbilli Postponement Revealed
Earlier this week, it was announced that Canelo Alvarez’s (63-3-2, 39 KOs) fight with WBC super-middleweight champion Christian Mbilli (29-0-1, 24 KOs), which was originally scheduled for September 12, will be pushed back to late October, and now we know the reason for the postponement.
Following the postponement announcement, rumors emerged that it was due to Canelo needing more time to recover from injuries he suffered in his loss to Terence Crawford last September, however that’s not the case, as it has been revealed that Canelo asked for the later date because he wants to spend more time with his infant daughter, who was born last August, before he returns to training camp and turns his focus on the championship bout. Mbilli has responded to the news, stating he is ready whenever the fight happens.
“I’ve been waiting for this fight for years. One more month or one less won’t change anything. My time will come,” Mbilli
