Referees And Judges Set For Top UFC 248 Fights

In one of the biggest cards of the year, UFC 248 will be looking to make history. What side of it will the judges and referees be on?

The Nevada State Athletic Commission announced the following referees will be in charge of maintaining order for the two main events, via MMAFighting:

– Referee Dan Miragliotta will be inside the cage during Israel Adesanya’s Middleweight Title defense against Yoel Romero.

– No-nonsense Keith Peterson will be the referee for the UFC Women’s Strawweight Championship bout between champion Weili Zhang and Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

“Big Dan” has worked a Romero fight once before but has never dealt with Adesanya before. That one appearance was a UFC 225 loss to then-champion Robert Whittaker. Romero failed to make weight during that match.

The judges for the main event will be Sal D’Amato, Chris Lee and Ron McCarthy. D’Mato and Lee both scored the Whittaker-Romero fight, with D’Amato the only judge giving the fight to Romero. The judges for the co-main event will be Mike Bell, Derek Cleary and Eric Colon.

The referees will be paid about $1,900 while the judges will each be paid $1,600.

UFC 248 takes place inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
