On October 18th, the UFC returns to Rogers Arena in Vancouver for the 7th time, and earlier today it was announced that Reinier de Ridder will square off with Anthony Hernandez to headline the evening.
De Ridder, who is a former ONE Championship titleholder, is on a 4-0 streak since joining the ranks of the UFC, with his last victory coming by way of a split decision over former UFC champion Robert Whittaker in July. Meanwhile, Hernandez faced Roman Dolidze earlier this month, and shattered his opponent’s 3 fight win streak with a dominant showing that ended in a 4th round rear naked choke submission.
With Hernandez ranked at No. 7, and de Ridder coming in right behind him at No. 8, this match is a no-brainer for the promotion, and will likely project who the future title challenger could be out of the two.
