Report: UFC Moving Borg To Bantamweight
This past weekend at UFC Rio Rancho, Ray Borg defeated Rogerio Bontorin via unanimous decision. Prior to the fight, Borg (13-4) missed weight, sacrificing 30% of his purse. It was the fourth time he has missed weight, all within the UFC. He missed the flyweight limit three times and bantamweight once, going 3-1 during that span.
It appears the UFC as a whole are tired of seeing if he will maintain weight. Eric Kowal of MyMMANews.com is one of the members of the UFC’s rankings committee; he votes on who moves up and down within the rankings. It was announced that the UFC is making Borg ineligible for the flyweight rankings.
We were just notified that the #UFC has requested Ray Borg be removed from eligibility in the flyweight rankings. He will be moving up to bantamweight.

Bontorin is ranked seventh in the rankings, while Borg has been off the rankings. Based off of reports going around, Borg may be an official member of the bantamweight divison. It is unknown where he would rank if the move became official.
Borg, who has gone through a number of health issues within his family, previously stated the would retire if he were to not make weight again. He has since retracted that statement in a post on Instagram, apologizing once again for his actions.
