Report: Zuffa Boxing’s Debut To Feature Claressa Shields
Claressa Shields next bout is reportedly set and it’ll be under the Zuffa Boxing banner.
Journal de Montreal is reporting that Shields is set to take on Marie-Eve Dicaire in an undisputed title fight on December 11. Shields is the WBC and WBO Light-Middleweight Champion. Dicaire holds the IBF Light-Middleweight Title.
The report from Journal de Montreal notes that Shields vs. Dicaire will be promoted by Zuffa Boxing. Since 2017, UFC President Dana White has been teasing Zuffa Boxing. The UFC boss admitted that there have been struggles and at one point, he even suggested that he was ditching the idea altogether. Ultimately, it appears White has decided to go through with the venture.
Shields has a pro boxing record of 10-0. In her last outing, she defeated Ivana Habazin via unanimous decision to capture the WBC and IBO gold. Dicaire is also undefeated with a record of 17-0. She defeated Ogleidis Suarez via unanimous decision in her last bout. This was Dicaire’s third successful title defense.
Shields vs. Dicaire is set to be airing live on UFC Fight Pass. We’ll keep you up to date with more information on Shields vs. Dicaire as those details become available.
