Mayweather-Gotti III Exhibition Descends Into Mass Brawl

The exhibition bout between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and John Gotti III at the FLA Live Arena on June 11th 2023, was marred by a brawl after the referee, Kenny Baylis, stopped the fight.

Mayweather dominated the fight from the beginning, landing shots on Gotti as he moved around the ring against an out-of-sorts opponent.

Mayweather continued to mock Gotti throughout the fight by talking to him as he landed some heavy blows. Gotti struggled to respond but managed to stay with Mayweather for six rounds.

That is when things took a turn for the worse. Referee Kenny Bayless warned the fighters about their language, but the warning was ignored.

Thereafter, Bayless stopped the fight in the sixth round. However, Gotti swung wildly, much to the shock of the onlookers. Mayweather and Gotti’s camp jumped into the ring as a result.

As this happened, things escalated in the crowd with some fans inciting trouble. Although there were no reports of injuries sustained, the majority of the boxing community questioned whether the scenes had been staged.
