Former champion Robbie Lawler is back and will share the octagon with Argentinian fighter Santiago Ponzinibbio at UFC 282 on Dec. 10. The location and venue for the event has yet to be confirmed.
They were supposed to face off back in 2019. However, Ponzinibbio suffered an injury and was forced to pull out from the bout.
Lawler is a former champion who wants to be back at the division’s top. He lost his most recent fight in early July to Bryan Barberena by second-round TKO on the main card of UFC 276.
Before that, he earned his latest victory in his rematch against Nick Diaz via TKO.
Ponzinibbio is currently coming off a pair of close, split decision defeats. He last competed in May, where he was defeated by Brazil’s Michel Pereira in a contest that won Fight of the Night.
