Robeisy Ramirez Flattens Abraham Nova In Fifth Round On Beterbiev-Smith Undercard

Robeisy Ramirez ended the night early for Abraham Nova.

Ramirez dropped Nova in the fifth round of their scheduled 10-round featherweight fight at Madison Square Garden’s Hulu Theater. A vicious left hand sent Nova flat on his back, forcing the referee to immediately wave the fight at 2:20 of the round.

In the opening round, Nova jumped the gun and landed a counter right on Ramirez. But his opponent quickly came back with a straight left and forced Nova into his own corner.

Ramirez kept his momentum in the third round as he knocked Nova off balance with two left hands that made him wobble.

Late in the fourth, Nova gave Ramirez a taste after landing two right hands in an exchange.

In the fifth round, Ramirez was moved backward by a right hand from Nova, but 30 seconds later, Ramirez got his revenge as he blasted Nova with a left hand that laid him out on the canvas.

Ramirez improved to 10-1 and recorded his sixth knockout. Nova, meanwhile, suffered his first pro loss.
