Robert Whittaker Injured, Marvin Vettori Calling Out A New Opponent
Robert Whittaker isn’t taking on Marvin Vettori.
On Wednesday, Whittaker announced on Twitter that he suffered an undisclosed injury and will not be able to compete in June.
Sorry to say guys due to an injury I took early in the camp I’m not able to compete in June. I did everything I could to get it right but its not healing in time. All this means is that I’ll be back in the octagon a couple months later and I’ll be better than ever 👊🏽 pic.twitter.com/Q0PEtjxDfs

Before Whittaker’s announcement, Vettori leaked the injury himself and said that he remains the only fighter who did not pull out from the fight and asks Darren Till or Khamzat Chimaev to face him.
“We’re back at this. I think I’m the only 185er that can say that has never pulled out of a fight but anyway smash boys I’ll get you back to back lets do it I’m willing to die just show up @KChimaev@darrentill2@Mickmaynard2@AliAbdelaziz00@danawhite”

In his latest 10 bouts, Vettori suffered only two defeats, and both are against current champion Israel Adesanya.
After suffering defeat in the title fight, he fought with another former title challenger, Paulo Costa, and served a loss to the Brazilian after five rounds.
Whittaker is also coming off a loss to Adesanya. The two fought in a rematch on February 12, but Whittaker was unable to get his revenge, losing by unanimous decision.
